Who it's for

Built for the mid-market.

GC at a Series B-D scale-up

Single legal hire, no team yet. Need senior commercial cover for a financing round, a customer contract crunch, or a sticky commercial dispute, without a six-figure firm retainer.

Head of Legal at a mid-cap ASX-listed firm

Mid-sized in-house team. Need bench depth on a specialist matter (employment, IP, data, M&A) without losing a headcount slot to a permanent hire.

Legal Operations Manager

Vendor-managing a panel of firms. Want to plug ALSP-style flexibility into the panel without procurement re-onboarding every new lawyer.

Founder or COO with no GC

Pre-GC stage company. Have a one-off legal problem this quarter and don't want to start a partner-level relationship for one matter.

How we ship it

FAQ

Common questions from buyers.

Do I sign a contract with My Legal Connect or with the lawyer?
You sign one engagement letter with My Legal Connect. We hold the master engagement and pay the matched lawyer. You get one invoice, one point of contact, one engagement letter regardless of how many matters you run through the platform.
What if the matter scope changes mid-engagement?
Scope changes are handled via an engagement letter amendment. The fixed fee is re-priced transparently before any extra work begins. No surprise WIP.
How are lawyers vetted?
Every lawyer holds a current Australian practising certificate, has at least seven years post-admission experience, has supplied two professional references, and has been interviewed by our compliance lead. PI insurance verification is confirmed at engagement.
What jurisdictions do you cover?
Australia-wide. Our lawyer roster covers VIC, NSW, QLD, WA, SA, ACT, and TAS practising certificates. Cross-jurisdictional matters are matched to lawyers admitted in the relevant state.
Can I work with the same lawyer on multiple matters?
Yes. Repeat engagements with the same matched lawyer are common and encouraged. New engagement letter per matter, but no need to re-shortlist.
How is privacy of my matter protected?
Brief contents are accessed only by our compliance lead and the three shortlisted lawyers (under NDA). Lawyers who decline the intro lose access to the brief. No public listing, no third-party data sharing.
Do you handle court appearances and litigation?
Yes for dispute resolution, regulatory investigations, and pre-litigation work. For court appearances we match a barrister or solicitor-advocate as appropriate to the matter.
What if the matched lawyer isn't a fit?
Within the first three business days of engagement, if the lawyer is not a fit, we re-match at no extra cost and pro-rate any work completed.
